At E & L Hair we are passionate about hair, whether styling, cutting or colouring it’s our aim to provide the best possible service to all our clients. This enthusiasm is present in everything we do and a key requirement for the stylists that are part of the team.
Salon Owner
When I started hairdressing in 2002, I soon realised that this was it for me; there wasn’t anything else I wanted to do. I completely fell in love with the industry. Training closely with Wella in 2005, I became a Wella colour expert in all aspects of colour and in 2024 trained with Beauty Works to bring hair extensions to our clients.
Meeting new people every day and making them feel confident and beautiful, I knew that one day I wanted to have a salon of my own. I’ve grown alongside the team who are all super stylists. Giving new team members and apprentices the opportunities I have had and seeing them develop is really rewarding.
I started an apprenticeship with Elaine Davison here in Ecclesfield, where training, dedication and growth led me to take over the salon in April 2021 when Elaine retired.
Now as salon owner, I love the challenge the business brings; always looking for new trends, services and talent, managing a full column, a creative team and training.
Through my hairdressing journey I have had amazing opportunities, travelling to different places and meeting new people through networking, who have inspired me to bring the best possible experiences for our clients.
I’m so proud of my success and believe that sheer hard work and determination has carried me through recessions and good times.
In 2002 when I first met Laura Gelsthorpe my new apprentice at Ecclesfield, I always knew she had the ingredients to eventually take hold of the reins and continue the success of the business with her talent and enthusiasm. Laura has been managing the team and day to day running of the Ecclesfield salon for over 5 years and I now feel the time is right for her to move forward as sole owner in the next 5 years.
In 2016 E&L HAIR LTD was formed by ELAINE & LAURA.

I will continue to manage ELAINE DAVISON LTD on Ecclesall Road and keep in touch with everyone at Ecclesfield; it will be difficult to lose my 40 year old baby whilst knowing it’s in great hands.
At the age of 19 Elaine gave me the opportunity to do my MCA putting me on the Managerial path with a view to becoming a Manageress. With help and support from Elaine and Wella, I’ve loved the challenge of this role.
Elaine has been my inspiration, running a successful salon and driving a passionate team, she is both a great mentor and friend, guiding me through my career and always believing in me.
In 2007 E&L Hair was born; going into business together with Elaine and with the support of my own family, my dream of being a salon owner has become a reality.

We offer a range of styling services including blow drying, curling and waving, hair-ups and braiding.
Colouring Services
Having master colour experts in salon we specialise in all aspects of hair colour continuously trained by ‘Wella’ and ‘Sassoon’.
Hair Extensions
We offer a variety of extension types to suit your requirements. All of our quality extensions can be styled as you would your natural hair.
Classic Gents Styling
All our gents’ stylists are continually trained by Wella and Sebastian, with a range of experience from classic styles to the latest trends.
